Internet Provider AOL offering WSOP Freerolls
AOL will be putting its Poker Hub to great use very soon.
The Internet service provider is about to offer nine
tournament which will award the winner of each with a
$10,000 World Series of Poker Main Event seat. These
tournaments will be played on Sunday and are winner take
all.
It's a big surprise that a company like AOL has entered
the Poker Industry. Although, online gambling is a $12
Billion a year industry. Jeffery Pollack, the commissioner
of the WSOP was qouted saying, “AOL is the only officially
sanctioned place to play for a chance to win free seats on
the Internet.”
Ralph Riviera, Vice President of AOL Games, included, “Our
agreement with Harrah’s will provide nine novice poker
players with the opportunity of a lifetime to join
Poker professionals to possibly win the grand prize purse
worth millions.”
“This will have a great impact on the WSOP.” Said Riviera,
"We've never done anything like this before. People don't
have to be a monthly AOL subscriber to gain access to the
poker rooms,"
The AOL services will be providing behind the scenes
videos, news, and pictures of the various tournaments at
the World Series of Poker.
