January 9th, 2007. EPT French Open Cancelled - Tournament
in Poland Announced.
The EPT just announced that the EPT French Open scheduled
for late February has been cancelled. Below is the
official announcement posted on the EPT website:
"European Poker Tour regrets to announce the cancellation
of the 2007 EPT French Open due to take place at Casino
Barriere de Deauville between 20-24th February, 2007. A
full statement will follow."
No reason has been given on why this event was cancelled
and we have yet to see any other news sites indicating a
rumor or reason as to why the event was cancelled.
Just before this surprise announcement a new tournament
was added to the season 3 card which will be held in
Poland. The tournament runs form March 14-17, has a buy in
of 15,000 Zlotych (about £2600) and is limited to 300
entrants. The game will be No Limit Texas Holdem and will
be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Warsaw.
